As promised..... Garlic Shrimp By Lala Koala

As I promised you a few days ago, I will tell you my secret shrimp recipe. Again, I don't have the exact proportions, nor do I have the time but with shrimp it's pretty easy to say when it's done.  This blog will be full of pictures since I did take a step by step picture as I was making it.

Step one! Put some music on! I chose pandora Benny Benassi radio.

Step Two: make sure you are organized and have all the ingredients out and ready to go!
For my recipe I chose jumbo shrimp (but any shrimp works), bowl of milk, garlic, fresh lemon, fresh cilantro, parsley, smoked paprika, pam, and real lemon juice.

Step three: if you're shrimp are not deveined , make sure you do so! As you clean and devein the shrimp put them in the bowl of milk for 30min-1hour. Milk kind of kills that sea smell and softens the shrimp.

Step four: while your shrimp are getting a milk bath you have time to prepare a bowl of "goodness".
Get a bowl and clean a few heads of garlic. Again If you absolutely love garlic like I do, go crazy! If you just like it, do few a few heads for the taste.

Step five: you may choose to cut the garlic into small pieces or use a garlic masher to just get the juice out. Depending on your love for garlic either one works. Add a few drops of the "Real Lemon" juice and squirt about half a fresh lemon into the bowl. I also added some smoked paprika and mixed it all in.

Step six: Are you enjoying the music while you're cooking? Or are you enjoying your cooking while the music is playing? I was doing both :)
If it has been at least 30 minutes, you may start putting the shrimp into the bowl of "goodness". Make sure to soak them in there for at least 5 min per shrimp, longer if you wish. I did about 10 minutes. Since they all did not fit in my bowl, I got an extra bowl and after 10 minutes I transferred the shrimp there with a few garlic pieces. In the new bowl I squeezed some fresh lemon (just a little) and cut some fresh cilantro on top. I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of this step :(

Step seven: You are ready to start cooking!!!! Make sure you pan is HOTTTTT!!!! When that first shrimp touches the pan, it must absolutely make a very sizzling sound. You may use real butter, but I chose pam for this one.

As you can tell from the picture my pan is sizzling!

Step eight: I used a fork for easier turn over of the shrimp. Turn the shrimp over when golden on one side. Wishful thinking, I wish I had some wine and/or brandy to just barely sprinkle my shrimp. It add an amazing taste. But I was too hungry to run to the store before hand.

Hey You're almost done!

Step nine: I made rice with my shrimp, but you can make whatever your heart desires. Once your side is done serve on a plate, and don't forget to decorate with something fresh for the beauty of it.

And Enjoy your plate of heaven!

Summary:

As always,
Stay Classy My Friends :) <3

Getting back into it...

Hell my fellow followers and friends. I have been out of touch for the longest time, but I never stopped thinking about my blog. I have so many great subjects to talk about, and I can't wait to share them with you. First and foremost, I want to thank everyone for still visiting my page even when I wasn't updating it. Icelandic Adventures

The Land of Ice awaits my arrival. Or so, I hope. I have dreamt of this for a long time. I'm so beyond excited to explore, yet another country. In just 11 short days, I will be getting on the plane, to depart for Iceland. I have so many things on my list that I would love to see, but so little time. With only 7 full days there, I'm torn to have to pick and choose which places I will have to miss this time. This trip is filled with exciting activities I've never done. I will be talking about each activity in a separate post after I experience it.  Iceland offers some of the most spectacular sceneries: endless waterfalls, volcanos, icebergs, farm houses, natural lagoons/hot-springs, ice caves just to name a few.  I’m also excited for the weather change. To wear a jacket, and gloves and a hat. Living in Florida for the passed 10 months made me really appreciate a little bit of that crisp air. I have been wearing nothing but dresses, so I’m excited for some la

The South Coast of Iceland

Iceland! The land of so much more than ice. Volcanoes, canyons, countless waterfalls and wind that will blow you away, literally. Although the ice was practically non-existent, or at least the parts of the country that I encountered. The one place we did find ice it was absolutely, without a doubt, my favorite part of the trip. Never have I ever seen that kind of beauty. It’s a different kind of beauty than, say Bali (which is definitely my favorite place on earth), yet it was magical. The views were absolutely stunning. Something that didn’t even make sense to me was these huge blocks of ice we saw. They have been there for hundreds of years, and have never melted away. However, it’s not freezing and there is no snow. The water isn’t frozen! I’m so curious about how and why this is even possible? The ice was literally blue! So unreal.   Follow me on instagram for more images  @laasbella Stop number one: Diamond Beach Stop number two: Glacier Lagoon Diamond Beach Glac
